Best Business Grants

They say in business, nothing is free. However, sometimes a business can have access to business grants that are essentially FREE money if they follow the regulations that come along with it. Below is a small list of potential state, federal, and private programs that offer business grants. If your business qualifies for one of these business grants, you could be seeing some free money!

State and Regional Small-Business Grants

Grants given by state and regional entities are a great way to get some extra money in your small business cashflow. If you follow the rules and regulations that come with them, you have a great opportunity for some free business grant money.

Oftentimes, the United States Department of Commerce provides grants to help support local economic growth and encourage small business development. Communities what small business to succeed, and business grants are a great way to help achieve that.

Corporate Small-Business Grants

Believe it or not, some large businesses are willing to give small business free grant money! Why is this? Usually they give the money to non-profit organization to help support a good cause. They will on occasion give business grants to for-profit companies, if they are for a good cause as well. For example, LendingTree gives a $50,000 business grant once a year to a qualifying small business that is having issues with scaling. This is a great way for a small business to increase cashflow to help them succeed.

Another instance of this is FedEx’s Small Business Grant. They give out over $45,000 a year in business grants to small businesses with less than 99 employees. These are two of many business grants given out by large corporations.

Specialty Grants

Finally, some grants are given out by both private and federal entities each year based on certain demographics and situations. For example, a grant might be given to a qualifying small business that has only female workers. There is a pretty large list of specialty grant categories. Some of which are:

  • Minorities
  • Women
  • Non-Profits
  • Veterans
  • Single Parents
  • Young Business Owners

The list goes on. The best strategy for these business grants is to do a simple google search to see what you may qualify for.

These are just some of the types of business grants that are available. Business grants give businesses the ability to take on more work, hire more workers, and do more logistically than they could without the money they receive. Your business may benefit from one of these grants, so make sure to do your research and apply for any you qualify for!
